I too was eagerly awaiting this new book by Kiyosaki. Tired of hearing allegations as to "who has really benefitted from his teachings" I eagerly bought this book and read this new addition to the Rich Dad series.
I really think the reader from Chicago is missing the point. The fact is more wealth has been made in real estate than in any other venture. No other business or investment can compare. Writing books? C'mon now! Do you have any idea on how many books get turned down each year? And of those that are published, how many do you suppose really make any real money?
Many of Kiyosaki's critics have been asking for evidence that his strategies work. Well here it is in Real Life Success Stories from Real Life People who followed the Rich Dad lessons.
Like it or not, this is how "Real People" are making "Real Money" in Real Estate.
Perhaps in some future volume, Kiyosaki will profile business success stories and I look forward to those as well. But for the masses, Real Estate is the key.
Good book Mr. Kiyosaki but I doubt this will silence your critics----too bad for them!

No more excuses

In this new book by Robert Kiyosaki, Robert completely blows away the allegation that his philosophy doesn't work. Ecuses are completely taken out.I enjoyed the business and real estate success stories and I look forward to Kiyosaki's next foray.Good book Robert. Very inspiring.

The proof is out - Kiyosaki students rock!

After reading some of the negative reviews on the other Rich Dad books especially the first one, I was skeptical about the real value of Robert Kiyosaki and felt he was just a "get rich quick" guru.
After reading this book, I am convinced that Kiyosaki is for real. More than that, I came in contact with people who have used successfully Kiyosaki's strategies and philosophy and are making some serious money.
So impressed was I that I went ahead and bought Rich Dad Poor Dad, Cash Flow Quadrant, Rich Dad's Guide to Investing and Rich Dad's Prophecy.
I also recommended this book to many of my friends but alas the bookstore was all sold out after only a few days. I am now recommending that they order through Amazon.
Thank you Mr. Kiyosaki for a very exciting book.

Awesome book for those burned out on regular Sudoku

Here's my story, I suspect some of you might find it familiar. When I first discovered Sudoku about 4 years ago I loved it. For about 1.5 years I did a Sudoku almost every day, hard puzzles during the week and very hard puzzles on the weekend. But then I burned out on it - just too much of the same ol' same ol'. About a year ago I started doing Sudoku again, and enjoyed it, but after a few puzzles I'd stop for a month or so.

Then I got Mutant Sudoku last month, and I'm back to doing a puzzle almost every day. Even better, I'm having as much fun as I did four years ago. There are 10 distinctly different types of puzzles, all recognizably Sudoku, but all with twists and turns that stretch your brain in new ways. Some examples are:

Outside Sudoku - a standard 9 by 9 grid, but the starting numbers are on the outside of the grid
Tile Sudoku - where instead of 3x3 inner grids, you have patterns like a tiled floor, so the boxes aren't all the same size little squares
3D Sudoku - where the grid is projected onto the outside of a geometric solid (very tough)

Each of these new types includes at least a dozen or more puzzles, starting from easy and going to well beyond my capabilities. Then there is a section at the end called Chimeric Sudoku where these different types are mixed in mysterious (and terrifying) ways.

This little book has greatly exceed my expectations. I'm stunned to discover how expandable the basic principles of Sudoku are, and I look forward to going a long, long time before saying "Same ol', same ol'" again.

Nicely crafted

Sudoku are popular, and entertaining. Sudoku can also easily be generated automatically. Solving a bunch of automatically-generated sudoku gradually raises the question "why am I doing this? I could write a program that solves these things instantaneously, and solving them myself doesn't present any new challenges."

Mutant Sudoku answers this question, by introducing variations within the sudoku theme. The book is divided into chapters, each containing a particular variant. Each one has its own flavor, and each one has its own invariants, that gradually become clear. In addition, these hand-crafted puzzles have nice touches: "ah! the diagonal turns out to have 1-9 in order!". It's observations like this, and the challenge of discovering each puzzle's invariants, that keep these puzzles entertaining.

Buy this book, then branch out into Nikoli magazine puzzles, games magazine, forsmarts-style contests, US puzzle championships, etc.

Best Sudoku book available

I became a popular columnist because of an article I wrote called Sudoku Variations, which republished the first Number Place puzzle ever made, by Howard Garns. That, I got from Will Shortz. All the rest of the many variants were sent to me by Wei-Hwa Huang, the author of the book here.

Wei-Hwa is the best logic puzzle solver in the world, is a top notch programmer, and knows more about logic puzzles than anyone. His collection is enormous, and world-encompassing.

With all of that skill, he makes *excellent* puzzles. After solving tens of thousands of them, he's got a really good knack for what makes a good challenge. I've got a few hundred sudoku books. It's hard to find "good" ones. But this little book has more depth, more variety, and better challenges than any twenty of the others combined.

He's good enough that he was picked by the US Sudoku Championship to make the puzzles for that event.

I've seen glimpses of his next book, and that will be similarly spectacular.

Very informative short book

This short book is well-written. It is also very informative source of knowledge about the reign of Justinian. Author made an attempt of Justinian's conquests justification. Previously some historians condemned Justinian for his attempts of the Roman Empire restoration in the western part of the Mediterranean Sea. They claimed that Justinian left eastern borders of his Empire without the proper protection, what in their opinion might be confirmed by the sack of Antiochia by Persian troops in 540 AD. Evans shows in his book that eastern provinces were also very important in Justinian's policy. An author clearly emphasizes the role of the empress Teodora, which she had in the imperial policy in those times. Her influence on the Justinian's decisions was huge. For instance she convinced her husband Justinian to suppress the Nika Riots, which were directed against their rule. I find the collection (at the end of the book) of short biographies of people, who were involved in the main events of the Justinian's reign very useful and informative.

The last of the Romans

Justinian's reign was the a high point of the final days of the Roman Empire - besieged from within and without, the Roman Empire was based administratively in Constantinople, and had all but lost contact with the 'Eternal City', the home of its origin, Rome. There was a definite East/West split that had already begun to solidify linguistically and culturally, and there were increasing tensions in the now-officially Christian Empire as to just what kind of Christianity was going to be the official line.

When he was born, Justinian wasn't really meant to be Emperor. His uncle Justin came to power somewhat unexpectedly, but Justinian adapted to the coming responsibility with shrewdness and ability. He has been called the last of the Romans for good purpose; the city of Rome itself had been sacked by Visigoths and Vandals in the preceding century, and the western lands were more often than not in open defiance of Roman authority. When they were officially Roman, they were as often demanding as they were supportive. Justinian's long reign enabled him to reunite most of the old Roman Empire one final time. After Justinian, no one would be able to reunite East and West again.

There were different groups pressing at the borders of the Empire - the various European tribes of peoples, from Goths and Germans to Slavs, pressed in on the northern borders with increasing power. The African provinces were increasingly problematic, and the ancient enemy to the east, the Persians (formerly Parthians). Justinian was the last emperor to expand territory and defend against the invaders on all the fronts. Some peace treaties (such as that with the Persians) leads to long-term problems; Justinian's successor refuses to pay the treaty amounts, for example, and war ensues with Persia once more.

As interesting a period as this is internationally, it is also an interesting period theologically; it is one of the few times in Roman history where the dominant belief (or at least wishes) of the Emperor are not translated into theological orthodoxy. The Monophysite party had great influence, not just with Justinian, but with his Empress, Theodora, and thus prompted church councils, that nonetheless determined against the Monophysites. Several heretical issues arose during Justinian's reign; some of the aftermath still survives in official church doctrine for the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic worlds, as well as for splinter groups in Christendom that remain to this day.

Evans also writes about the building of the Hagia Sophia, the crowning building project of Justinian's reign, and a magnificent structure which remains in the city of Istanbul to this day.

The book is arranged in an interesting manner - there is a timeline with annotations beginning with the dedication of Constantinople in the year 330, leading to the overrun of Greece by Avars and Slavs in the year 587, twenty years after Justinian's death. Evans put these events in some wider context - the prophet Muhammad was born about the same time as Justinian's death; the final stage of the united Roman Empire fell as Muhammad came of age.

The second section is a narrative history in six chapters, each one looking at particular significant topics (the overall context of the world in late antiquity; the Nika revolt of 432; the legal achievement of Justinian; the Empress Theodora; the building programme of Justinian; and a concluding chapter). This is followed by a biographical section, with short essay biographies of the major figures of the time period. The fourth section includes primary documents from the Byzantine Empire, including legal documents, architectural descriptions (Hagia Sophia), reports on the plague and more. Finally, there is a useful glossary, index, and list of bibliographic references that make this a truly useful volume for the historian in a hurry.

The text includes a few photographs in black-and-white of significant buildings and mosaics. The one disappointment for me was that there are no maps; a few showing the lay of the lands would be helpful.

Overall, this is an interesting, accessible volume for a little-studied time period. Bella Vivante states in the series foreword that knowing the past is essential to knowing the present, and gives good reason for studying time periods such as late antiquity and the reign of Justinian. James Evans' style of writing is engaging and succeeds in bringing these issues into relevance.

Short and concise,interpretive work.

The eastern Roman Emperor Justinian is most famous for his Civilis Juris,that his his interpretation of Roman Laws;alot of the interpretations of which can still hold up today.The book is only 178 pages long,very readable and gives short chapters in regard to significant epochs and events of Justinians' reign.He was a christian emperor so concerned with orthodoxy that at times he seems more like a pope than a Caesar.In fact the term Caesaropapism was coined to describe him.The book also has a glossary of Byzantine Empire terms that are unique to the Eastern Roman Empire of Justinian.
However despite all his concerns with laws and orthodoxy the eastern Empire is anything but a Pax Romana,with Invasions ,Counterinvasions,Riots over food and chariot race drivers,etc.The book spends a significant amount of time on the different writers of the Justinian Age and explores some of their motivations for explaining Justinians reign as they did.Lots of black and white pictures of Justinians ambitious building constructions.Despite all the lofty pronouncements of Justinian you still get the feeling there was lots of ways of skirting the laws like is still done today.

Dated, but Still Good

Being the singular author on a comprehensive book about cybercrime has to be a daunting task. The subject area is so broad that a sole author can't be expected to be deeply knowledgeable about all aspects of the subject. Robert Moore wisely cautions the reader in the introduction that the goal of the book is to serve as a starting point in understanding the world of cybercrime rather than being a vehicle that will transform the reader into an expert. Moore largely hits the mark with this book. I found it to be a good overview of the world of cybercrime with an emphasis on computer forensics.

My primary concern with this work is that it feels very dated during portions of the book. For example, the content that deals with hacking provides a wonderful history of the term and how the public came to learn about this sort of activity, but the actual technical portion of the discussion needs to be updated. There are very few tools that are discussed specifically in the text and some of them are quite out of date. For example, the author talks about hackers using tools like nmap, but also spends time talking about SATAN. A book released in 2011 that talks about hacking really should concentrate on introducing the reader to more contemporary tools such as Metasploit and as well as discussing some of the more classic tools. While there isn't anything wrong talking about popular historical tools, they should be placed in the proper context with current tools.

The computer forensics portions of the book suffer from a similar problem. The book mentions commonly used tools such as EnCase and FTK, but treats the NTI tools as if they were still widely in use by the digital forensics community. They aren't. Similarly, the portion of the book that covers the acquisition of computer evidence is somewhat out of date. While the author does a fine job explaining how computer evidence should be collected, the methods described in the book reflect the "pull the plug" mentality that can no longer be relied on in today's world. While the author does talk about some live response issues in relation to open files on a computer, the 3rd edition of this book needs to talk about when making an image of a live machine might be necessary because of issues such as encryption concerns. There also needs to be updated content regarding the capture and analysis of live memory. Pulling the plug or shutting down a machine without capturing memory will result in the loss of gigabytes worth of very valuable data.

Ultimately, these are suggestions on how to improve the book for a 3rd edition rather than a reason to pass on purchasing this book. Even the sections that are dated are very well written and provide a tremendous amount of valuable data to the reader. I learned a few new things reading this book and I'm not target audience since I am already an experienced technical crime investigator and digital forensics examiner.

Though the book is now a little old (a lot changes in 3 years!), it has good step-by-step procedures and does an excellent job of making everything clear.

This book is Fully Loaded

Hyatt's pure Zen teaching inspired "unSpirituality-Permission to be Human" and gave me the tools to break through the glittery new age spirituality into actual energetic experience. This book covers a wide scope of psychology and the occult methods breaking it down to palatable pieces for the ready-to-hear ear. Simple to understand and profound in its scope, this book, all in itself, is fully loaded. If you were to pick two of Hyatt's books I recommend this one and Undoing Yourself.

Excellent Book for those of you whom experienced abuse and truly desire to re-claim your True Self and Discover your Destiny!

Hard Zen, Soft Heart concerns the re-programming of the mind/body with the aim of ridding yourself of repetitive self-sabotage. It is written for intelligent, sensitive, and, oftentimes, creative geniuses.

It is written for those of you who KNOW that you are capable of fulfilling your goals, whatever they may be, and yet continue to find yourself trapped or making the wrong choices and decisions.

Some say that doing the same thing while expecting a different result is a definition of "Insanity". But it is also a phenomenon that occurs when humans have suffered extreme duress, abuse, or constant criticism, especially from family members.

The reason you continue to make the same "mistakes" over and over again is NOT INSANITY, nor is it stupidity, ignorant, or psychotic.

Self defeating repetitive decisions or actions are nothing but your mind/body attempting to make itself whole again.
