About the Author
The Brazilian author PAULO COELHO is considered one of the most influential authors of our times. His books have sold more than 165 million copies worldwide, have been released in 170 countries and been translated into 80 languages. Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1947, he soon discovered his vocation for writing. He worked as a director, theater actor, songwriter and journalist. His collaboration with Brazilian composer and singer Raúl Seixas gave some of the greatest classic rock songs in Brazil. In 1986, a special meeting led him to make the pilgrimage to Saint James Compostela (in Spain). The Road to Santiago was not only a common pilgrimage but a turning point in his existence. A year later, he wrote 'The Pilgrimage', an autobiographical novel that is considered the beginning of his career. In the following year, COELHO published 'The Alchemist'. Slow initial sales convinced his first publisher to drop the novel, but it went on to become one of the best selling Brazilian books of all time. Other titles include 'Brida' (1990), 'The Valkyries' (1992), 'By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept' (1994), the collection of his best columns published in the Brazilian newspaper Folha de S. In 2009 he received the Guinness World Record for the most translated author for the same book (The Alchemist). The man behind the author likes to write and practices Kyudo - a meditative archery. He loves reading, walking, football and computers. In that sense, he has always maintained a close contact with his readers but now, and thanks to the new media, he has established an incredible feedback with them. Paulo was the second most influential celebrity on Twitter in 2010 according to Forbes and he is the writer with the highest number of followers in the social media.

Love wins!

Paulo Coelho, once again, manages to take a simple concept and dissect in such a way that I am forever changed. In this adaptation of Henry Drummond's story, the topic of love as it's spelled out in Paul's letter to the Corinthians is applied to every day life. In this, we are all given reason to pause as we reflect on the areas we are failing to love, and the simple ways we can make that change. The book is short, but it's a heavy read.

An artistry in words. A Gift to everyone who reads Paulo Coelho's "The Supreme Gift"

A beautiful short story originally written by Henry Dummond mid to end 1800's was adapted by a brilliant Brazilian author Paulo Coelho (author of the well known novel "The Alchemist".) This is a story of a man asked by a famous Preacher to speak to a large group of people who were intent on hearing from the well known Preacher. The people that had gathered were disappointed yet listened to this man as the entire story unfolds with the crowd finding a wealth of peace and fulfillment as they learned about what all mankind asks themselves, "what is the purpose of life." In perhaps the shortest piece written on the requirement for love in our hearts and our existence, Cohelo manages to dissect living into faith hope and love. In so, showing us how love is unquestionably the key most important element in living. Showing us how love is the Secret of Life, allowing us to reach with him the only conclusion possible. Love is the only thing that endures. This is The Supreme Gift. A book you will want to keep close to you and re-read often.

Great short book on what it means to love. We can all to quickly scold and curse others even those close to us. Even those we love. This book discusses how difficult it is to be vulnerable, to let your guard down and truly love all people.
